Ride Smart-Fast

What is FAST?

Frequent. Affordable. Safe. Transit.

FAST, powered by SMART, offers a limited-stop service that connects you to the suburbs and downtown quickly and easily.  This high-frequency service travels along three of Detroit’s busiest corridors, Gratiot, Woodward, and Michigan Avenues so you can access jobs, retail, restaurants, stadiums, Detroit's Metro Airport, and entertainment venues.  To complete your trip, transfer from FAST to the new SMART Flex On-Demand service, within the Dearborn, Troy/Clawson, Auburn Hills & Pontiac, and the Hall Road zones.  You can view schedules and plan your trip here

Designated FAST Stops
FAST stops are located about every mile, which helps to streamline the service.  While you can only board and deboard at designated FAST stops, you can use any SMART local route to transfer to your final destination or connect you to a designated FAST stop.  The buses come approximately every 15 - 20 minutes during peak hours and operate 7 days a week, even late nights and weekends.  FAST buses are WiFi-enabled letting you get a lot accomplished while riding.  Plus, there is no need to transfer at the Detroit border.

See the designated bus stops signs below:
